Our Mission
Our innovative device with breakthrough character, constructed from advanced biocompatible materials to ensure optimal performance, addresses the critical medical need for infective endocarditis, a life-threatening infection of the heart valves, where the current standard of care often relies on prolonged antibiotic therapy followed by a high probability of reinfection.
Developed through a strategic partnership between the Medical University of Vienna & RHP - Technology GmbH, this technology represents a milestone in MedTech collaboration & innovation to fight infective endocarditis right at its core.

The Center for Biomedical Research and Translational Surgery consists of three core areas:
In the Department for Drug and Device Testing, preclinical investigations of new medical devices and drugs are carried out. The Department of Training and Simulation is dedicated to the education and training of surgeons and interventionalists. Research projects are bundled at the Cardiovascular Institute.
Biomedical research is one of the most exciting areas of research in science, as it provides a direct link between medicine and the life sciences such as biology, biochemistry, molecular biology and veterinary medicine, as well as the technical sciences such as physics, electronics, informatics and computer sciences. The aim is to support researchers in the planning and implementation of a specific project at all levels.
In addition, the Center for Biomedical Research and Translational Surgery at MedUni Vienna is an internationally recognised training and further education centre with the appropriate accreditation and equipment.
Founded in 2009 as a spin-off from the Austrian Institute of Technology, RHP-Technology GmbH is a specialist in the development and manufacturing of advanced materials using powder-based processes. From our base in Seibersdorf, Austria, we support companies and research institutions across Europe with tailor-made materials for high-performance applications in aerospace, energy, mobility, medical technology, and beyond.
We are active leaders in national and EU-funded R&D projects, driving innovation in areas like high entropy alloys, ceramic-metal composites, radiation-tolerant materials, and diamond-based sensors.
